I do. Yeah, it costs extra postage, but it's insurance that your picture won't get bent.

i try to send a cardboard piece with every 8x10 request too. I don't find that it's more expensive as long as you're not putting in some thick piece. If you use something like a cutout from a cereal box then it shouldn't eat up much of the postage price. the bigger and thicker your cardboard the more expensive it will be to send cuz that's what adds weight.

if im just requesting a photo i dont add cardboard just write 'do not bend' on envelope, if sending a big photo i add some light cardboard to be safe (ive sent out some 5 x 7's with no cardboard and so far no problems, knock on wood)

If your going to send cardboard anyways your best bet is to send a rigid photo mailer for the return inside a regular envelope,thats what i do and then you are guaranteed it wont get bent and they have really good tamper free seals and they cant rip like a regular envelope and they can even withstand getting wet... {up}

I use Duck brand photo mailers, to get an 8x10 photo back in a cardboard photo mailer it only takes 2 stamps

I buy my return envelopes in bulk so they're cheaper, under a buck a peice
