Resending autograph request

Unread post by Theone30 »

Hey Fanmail,

So I have been thinking about this topic for a while and have seen simular points being made by users in feedback. I was wondering when would be a good time to resend a request for an autograph. I have seen people send letters TTM to the same person every month requesting an autograph, and I have also seen people sending email requests every week to the same person requesting an autograph. So I guess my question is to you,

1) When would you resend a request TTM?
2) When would you resend a request Through an Email?

I am looking for an amount of time for both,
Any infor is of cource greatly apreciated.
[us] Thanks Fanmail [us]

Hi.
I my opinion, resending every week or even every month is just badgering the person you are requesting from. Some people can take 6 months to a year to get back to you. They're busy or it takes that long for their mail to catch up to them. I wait a year at least. Now, if they are in a venue such as a concert or Broadway, I would check to see how long they will be there and then try resending to get it to them before they move on. But I would only resend once.

So many celebs have gone to using Studio Fan Mail or no longer responding at all because they are either flooded with mail from the same people over and over. A) It can be annoying and B) a lot assume what they are selling will end up on eBay or other such sights.

I would say give it at least 6 months and while waiting, write to all the other great people out there that you want for your collection.

Snail mail after a year, or as mentioned right before the show is closing or the filming is wraping up. Email I never send twice. They got it the first time; no reason to send again. It will only lessen your chances because theperson who handles the person email keep the requests on file.

It really depends. I usually check the agency after 3-4 months. You would be surprised how many celebs I have sent to have moved agencies. And lots of times they don't forward. If I send something vv and I don't get a response within a few months of their filming/appearing. I might try a different address. I have had many a success from sending a 2nd time, sometimes even to the same agent. But, I have never sent to the same address weekly.

I have only re-sent a few time but always after a while--at least 6 months. I don't think I have ever re-sent e-mails. :)

I agree with the others on this one.
