collecting IP NBA players in Toronto
I live in Toronto, and I am planning to get some autographs from away teams. Where is easier to get their autographs? Who can give me some tips? Thanks a lot.
Re: collecting IP NBA players in Toronto
Seeing that no one else has replied, I'll try to help. I've never 'graphed in Toronto nor have I 'graphed the NBA. I've been at baseball games from Single-A to the MLB, so I'm sure there are some simularities.
First, get to know the team you want to 'graph. Sign on to a sports-related forum and check out the IP signings for the various teams so you know who signs, and how many. It can really come in handy so that you can focus on getting the guys who do sign and try for the tough guys later. Also try to watch as many games on TV as you can so you can know what the players look like. Tape games if you have to, or check out highlights on TV or your computer. It's much better than studying photos.
Second, get to know your facility and the other 'graphers there. Even if no one else gives you tips, you can learn just by showing up. You should see other people there and can find out easily where the players come in. From what I've heard (and I hope I heard right) Toronto is pretty friendly as far as the 'graphers are concerned. Get to know some of them and after you've been around for a while you can help each other out.
I don't know what time they would show up, but a safe bet would be to get there around 12:00 or so, especially if you want to catch the coaches and broadcasters. Of course, I'm thinking of baseball and admit I don't know when the NBA guys will show up. But it's better to be safe than sorry. After the first day there, you can start making adjustments.
I've been to a lot of places and every time I go to a new facility I have to learn all over again I've never asked anyone to tell me where to go and all that. I've learned just by going there and seeing how things are laid out. The next time I go the same place I can be a little more prepared.
