Hi Bubba
Although we can never be 100 percent certain, in my opinion, i would say that is an authentic Freddie Mercury autograph. If thats yours, congrats, if you are thinking of purchase (if it were me) i would be fine making the purchase

Photo came from the RR Auction catalog.. judge as you will but most experts agreed it was real. I don't care personally but that was my source.

Hey, that's fine. But I would not spend $5 on it. Also remember, there is a BIG market to forge Freddie's signature. Furthermore, any hard-core fan of the band who has seen all the members signatures 100X over will tell you it's fake. But again that just my opinion. Lastly, auction houses, PSA, DNA and these authentication places........are in the business to make money. So do your own research before investing.
Re: Freddie Mercury Autograph
It's not mine, just took the picture, and honestly the conspiracy against auction houses and authentication companies is all well and good but a lot of people don't really care if they have paperwork that allows them to sell it at in a major auction for a high price.
Autograph collecting to many people is all about value, not about authenticity. After all, if you didn't get it yourself - how will you ever really know?
So with that being said, I would certainly pay $5 for it if I could drop it off at Christie's and get over $1000 - wouldn't you?

Re: Freddie Mercury Autograph
Nope, I would not. Because it's fake! All I'm trying to tell you is that the photo (for whatever auction it's at) is not the real deal. Whoever ends up buying it will be very disappointed when they realize the truth. Furthermore, photos of Freddie signed are very rare. Look on Ebay for some really bad examples. Most of his real signatures will be in ball-point pen. You should understand this because of the era and sharpies were not available. Felt-tip pens were sketchy at best. When you see an authentic signed album by the entire band they are usually with fine-pens, not markers. Or, Freddie's will be with a ball point pen and Brian's, Roger's and John's could be with a sharpie. Queen's signatures are very distinct.tansk1 wrote:It's not mine, just took the picture, and honestly the conspiracy against auction houses and authentication companies is all well and good but a lot of people don't really care if they have paperwork that allows them to sell it at in a major auction for a high price.
