I don't use cardboard all that much, as I send 4x6's and they tend to not get bent that much in my #10 envelopes, but I've had people send peices of cardboard back in my envelopes, one basketball player (David Stiff) put a piece of cardboard from a shoe box in mine.

I always put a piece of card in, the copier paper we use at work comes in boxes made of quite thin card and is ideal, I would have thought that cereal box packets might be a bit flimsy, at least the stuff British cereal boxes are made from.
Not only do I not want the photos to get bent on their outward or return journeys, I think it shows respect to the person you're sending to that you care about whether or not they end up getting bent.

I have put cardboard in all the ones i have sent so far otherwise i would be kicking my self if it came back bent!
haha 0.0001 mm thick but saying that weetabix boxes arent to bad
I do that. When I buy 8x10s, they usually come with cardboard. I also keep the cardboard when my family buys calendars. I got a really nice piece from Tim Conway when I sent him an e-mail request, and sent it all over for a while, but eventually Kevin Spacey kept it. Just recently Christopher Eccleston kept another one of mine, and I forgot to write "Do Not Bend" on the envelope, so it came back a little bent.
