PLEASE HELP !! I'M NEW

Greetings,
Ive quite recently transformed into a massive nerd. I want to start collecting autographs but don't have the faintest idea of how to :?
I have the basic that you send a photo and a letter to the celebrity but then what ?!?!
Can someone please tell me what to do, and speak as if you would be speaking to a child
