I have been watching Caroline's latest programmes all about Cornwall and am fascinated to see the county from someone else's eyes. Whilst I watch with eyes wide open and mouth in a similar position I would like to warn those of you being lulled deliciously into this 'paradise' on heaven all is not what it seems in Cornwall!!
I have lived in the South West due to family circumstances and work for the last 25yrs, 12 of those in Cornwall and can assure those of you considering a future in what you may perceive to be heaven...stop right there and ask around before you make the leap!
I would like to tell Caroline that whilst she is busy painting a vibrant colourful picture of Cornwall it would be perhaps pertinent and fair to show the other side? Poverty, desperation, corruption and a water authority that leaves its customers regularly knee high in sewage yet charges over £100pm for the privilege...and that's just for starters.
Perhaps someone else could share this with Caroline? There are communities invisible yet in crisis in Cornwall - let's see the real picture shall we? It aint all pasties, cream teas, blue skies and clear sea, I wish........
