A.J. Bridel Over The Rainbow

I am a young actor, singer and dancer who dreams of changing the face of Musical Theater and making a difference as a performer in the world. Currently competeing on CBC's Over The Rainbow for the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.

While AJ was born in Calgary, Alberta, the 18-year-old currently calls Kitchener home. She just graduated from Eastwood Collegiate Institute, and is looking forward to attending the musical theatre program at Sheridan College. AJ, which stands for Amanda Jeannette, has taken a variety of vocal training classes as well as training with pop choir, KW Glee.

The first stage production she ever saw was Les Miserables and says it's her favourite musical of all time. Her biggest role model is her vocal teacher Amanda Kind, but AJ also looks up to Jennifer Hudson. While singing is her first love, AJ also loves to cook, take bike rides and go to the beach. AJ says if she lands the role of Dorothy, she'd like to play it similar to the classic innocent Dorothy that everyone loves. All of AJs pets are named after musical theater characters, and she says her favourite song to sing is And I Am Telling You from Dream Girls.

AJ says she loves to sing because it makes her happy.
