I've measured my SAE, and have the weight for it.
According to the RoyalMail website, it will cost £3.15 in postage from England to the US.
I've been looking on ebay for British stamps, and some websites, but am unsure what the stamps mean. I see stamps marked 1st class, 2nd class, etc., but have trouble equating a US dollar amount.
I just want to buy some British stamps here in the States, without having to convert to pounds and pay hefty shipping.
The RoyalMail website allows one to print postage label stamps, but again, it's not converted to US Dollars so I didn't attempt.
I've heard of some folks just throwing a few US bills in with their letter to cover postage. A $5 bill ought to cover it.
For those that did: how did it work out? Seems like the easiest option.
What kinds of British stamps, and where do I get them?

Check out eBay for UK stamps, for currency conversions you can use XE.com but eBay will tell you before purchasing what sterling to dollars will be.
If your photos are in a 10x8 or higher sized envelope then you likely need Large Letter stamps, 1st and 2nd is just the speed it gets shipped through the system.
You can find stamp information on the royal mail website.

You can use any UK stamps on your SASE as long as the value is at least your cost.
Google for 1st/2nd class stamp values. These work like US forever stamps and I always recommend those.
Printed postage only lasts 48 hours so it's no good for SASEs.
Unless you can find a U.S. seller then hefty shipping is a part of international fanmail I'm afraid.
Look for a U.S. eBay seller or on Amazon.com.
International and domestic mail have different rules fromuk2014, so speeds and size etc are different.
OP has their price they just need enough stamps now to cover the cost.
I have seen other members from the US have success with sending $ bills before.
