So far I've mad the following responses:

Stirling Moss:
SIR STIRLING IS AWAY AT THE MOMENT, BUT IF YOU SEND AN ADDRESSED LABEL WITH A STAMP, I AM SURE THAT HE WILL SEND YOU A COUPLE OF AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS TO SELL.
BEST REGARDS, MANDY RIPLEY,
P.A. TO SIR STIRLING
Robbie Coltrane:
James

We were actually doing Robbie Coltrane's fan mail today and have sent you an orginally signed photograph which you could use as an auction item.

Good luck
Regareds
CDA
Cat Deeley:
Have forwarded your email to her agent Jacquie Drewe
Regards

Curtis Brown
Robbie Coltrane (again):
AN autographed photo for your auction is in the post today

Best
Belinda Wright

Uri Geller:
Hi I will mail you a signed picture I hope your trip will be great! Much energy uri

Wally Wingert:
Hi there! I'd be happy to help, and your charity sounds great, but my signed stuff never sells. It's because I offer free autographs to everyone who asks, so there's no need for my fans to ever buy them. But good luck with the auction!

Robert Muchamore:
Hi James,

I'll see what I can do!

Robert Muchamore.

One word. WOW.

I am just starting to send out requests for my chosen charity auction. Already it has amazed me the actual costs. £1.17 plus the cost of the IRC plus 2 envelopes (A4) plus a covering letter, and that is to just one celebrity based in the USA. Even to the UK, I am looking at 4 2nd class stamps, as well as the envelopes etc.
Am I doing something wrong here, or is this the same costs you are facing? The quantity you have sent so far must have cost you a fortune!
The only thing which keeps me going is knowing that it will hopefully result ijn some decent money going to a good cause.

I think I will keep an eye on your successes if you do not mind James, with the possibility of following in your footsteps.

Best wishes

Stuart

Hi James,
I'll PM you the list if you'd like
I would appreciate your list, if you do not mind.

As for the 4 stamps. My local post office claims that an A4 envelope under 100gms, is 48p. Therefore they gave me 2 second class stamps to send the letter, with another 2 placed on my SAE. I have come to understand there is actually a large letter stamp, but have yet to see it.

Many thanks in advance, and best wishes

Stuart

Cheers for the reply James
I think my local post office must have seen me coming :x
I wish I had mentioned it on here before I sent a load of letters. It would have saved me a small fortune.
Does it sound right then £1.17 to send to the USA via airmail(A4 envelope) along with a 95p IRC?
I would like to know so then if they are charging me the higher rate, without telling me my options, then it is time to take my business to a different post office.

Best wishes

Stuart
