Question about Mailing

Unread post by beautifuldisaster »

I was just wondering, I live in Canada... if I wanted to send a letter to an actor in the US, and I wanted to get a reply back... and I included a 15 by 23 cm envelope, how many IRCs do I need to include?

Also... I just bought the IRC's from my post office today, but I read that they're not valid unless they are stamped... :|

So would that one be not valid??

Thanks in advance!

hi. i don't really know much about the stamping part but I think it should work if you just send 1 IRC, but it actually depends on weight so if you're including something else, maybe you should send 2. Hope this helps! :lol:

Hi beautifuldisaster :D

A 15x23 cm envelope will require 1 IRC.

The USPS will accept IRC's without a stamp on the left hand side (where the CA is) according to their guidelines:
http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/immc3.6.25.htm wrote:2. Under Universal Postal Union’s regulations member countries are not required to place a control stamp or postmark on the international reply coupons that they sell. Therefore some foreign issue reply coupons which are tendered for redemption may bear the name of the issuing country (generally in French) rather than the optional control stamp or postmark. Such coupons are exchangeable for U.S. postage as specified in 372.3b.
When you buy your IRC's in future, make sure they are stamped! It just gives you the peace of mind that they're OK to be exchanged at the post office for stamps.

Thank you so much for the replies! I really appreciate it. {??}

I just came back from a post office close to my house and asked them about the IRCs, and the lady was nice enough to stamp them for me. So I'm relieved about that :)
