Hi Shifmaster
,
Yes, you should write a typical letter. Make sure you include your address so they can mail you an autograph! Good luck.

I send 2 paragraphs:
1st is who i am, and what i like about the celebrity
2nd is asking if they could send me an autographed picture
then the signature type thing
(ex: Thanks for your time. *NAME*)

First, you should say what you like about them and how much you like their work and they ask for it.
They'll prob. reply back something like - "Sure. Where would you like it to be sent?"

Re: How do i get an autograph from e-mailing
I have written quite a few email requests only when I can't find a mailing address. Write it like you would write any request. However I always put in " If a sase and/or pic. is required I would be more than happy to send one to an address provided". Then always type your name and address at the end. Some will email you back that it's on the way, some will provide their address to send a sase and others will email nothing and you will receive it in the mail and others you won't receive anything. If I receive anything via email I always email the person back saying Thank You. It's unbelievable how many responses I get back saying that very few ever email back and say thank you.

I usually state my name and such, age, and what movies I like them in. Then some other compliments (well what good is a letter without compliments!??!) and things.
Then I do a second paragraph asking for an autograph (I ALWAYS ask for personalized just in case. I don't ever want a celebrity who signs authentically to think I'm going to sell it, because I won't.) and say my address is below;
ADDRESS HERE
Best Regards,
NAME HERE
That's basically how I do mine. And I've gotten myself in the habit of responding back with Thank You (FINALLY got into the habit and remembering!).
