I can't believe...
The bloody audacity of some websites/people
I was just on http://www.celeb-autographs.co.uk and the prices their autographs go for should be considered exploitation of the uninformed buyer. £100 for a Jonny Wilkinson autograph?! WHAT? I got mine for under £2 by just writing to the bloke myself! Will Young, £30! Just write to his addy for again, less than £2! What a sham, I don't even want to look up prices for other celebs.
Sites like these are the reason some celebs are reluctant to sign! If it was for charity I could understand..
AUTHENTIC, OR NOTHING AT ALL.

Hello! ;)
I definitely agree that buying autographs costs a LOT! I will never buy an autograph because a) it costs too much and b) you're never sure of the authenticy. ;) Collecting TTM is much cheaper and more personal. Of course, you can still get sec's but that's why here's a list of celebs that's believed to!
I will only buy if it's for charity, of course!
Thanks!

That's what makes ours such a great hobby.
Jimmy Carter's autograph is worth probably $250 or so. I got it for $0.82.
Our hobby is one of the only hobbies I know of where the value can be at least 100 times more than what you paid. Or in this case about 305 times more what you paid.
Autograph collecting TTM is one of the best investments one could make. And autograph shops are proof of that. It's what makes charity auctions so successful.

Re: I can't believe...
I love this hobby. And that site is questionable. That's crazy! I'd be more than willing to mail out something for $2 total to get someone's autograph, rather than paying insane amounts of money for it.
This hobby is a lot of fun. Whether it's starting a collection for your little one, a loved one, yourself, or collecting for charity, it's still fun. I think what you get through the mail is more meaningful than what you buy online.

Sites like that are for people who don't know about this hobby!

It's not actually as it's illegal to sell a ttm autograph as 100% authentic.

99.99999% authentic is possible and legal. And in most cases 99% is good enough.
And how are we too sure that IP's are 100% authentic, with how great plastic surgeons are and make-up artists.
There's no way to prove any autograph is 100% authentic. For that matter, there's no way to prove anything is 100% of something.
